Kingdom Come - Releases

Kingdom Come is a hard rock band fronted by Hamburg-born vocalist Lenny Wolf. The group's first album, Kingdom Come was that band's only international hit. It currently consists of an entirely German line-up. The musical style on Kingdom Come's debut album was very close to the early blues-rock style of English rock band Led Zeppelin, to the point that some listeners initially thought that Kingdom Come was actually a Led Zeppelin reunion. With a sound that was thought by many to be highly derivative of Led Zeppelin's, there was a backlash from critics, with the band being dubbed "Kingdom Clone" in the press.

Dark Millennium - Releases

Dark Millennium is a German Doom/Death Metal band that was active in the early nineties. They made two demos and two albums. Each release is special and has it's own sound. "Ashore The Celestial Burden" consists of songs from the demo "Of Sceptre Their Ashes May Be" in addition of some new songs. The whole set may sound bland and too polished (compared to Of Sceptre), however it offers a special ambiance all throughout it. Hilton Theissen and Michael Burmann did some excellent work on songs like "Beyond the Dragon's Eye," "Father Legatus," and "Medina's Spell" which are really unique in the overall doom/death sound, i.e. the songs sound very light, weak and not that heavy, but yet it seems to work, after some time you begin to feel the dark atmosphere of this great overlooked album. The major disappointment in Ashore The Celestial Burden comes from the vocals... oh how it could have been better if they were appropriate Death Metal growls!! Taking in consideration that the lyrics aren't the boring gory kind at all but more about personal/epic and fictional stories, it enhances that feeling that it could be better. The production of this album is debatable too, it isn't that bad but it's nothing mind blowing at all. Clean and distorted guitars could have been better. For most of those who heard Of Sceptre Their Ashes May Be this album will really sound strange compared to Dark Millennium's masterpiece (that demo indeed).

Jerusalem - Releases

Jerusalem is a Swedish Christian rock band, founded in 1975 by Ulf Christiansson. It was one of the first bands to combine Christian lyrics with a hard rock sound. Jerusalem's message was primarily aimed at youth, with their lyrics describing the band's relationship to God in an ordinary, but radical way. The band's purpose was expressly evangelistic. Their concerts have been described as a series of revival meetings which often included altar calls and occasionally exorcisms. When the band first toured in the mid-1970s in Sweden, their combination of Christian lyrics with a hard rock sound was very controversial. The band was only permitted to perform at a few churches. Over time, Jerusalem gained broader acceptance, and after three years of touring record companies began making offers to record the band.

Deuteronomium - Releases

Deuteronomium is a Christian death metal band formed in 1993, Jyväskylä, Finland. Deuteronomium had a notable role in creating the Finnish Christian metal scene as they were one of the earliest and most influential groups pioneering in that genre. Deuteronomium are together with Immortal Souls the only remaining bands of the first wave of Finnish Christian extreme metal that are currently active. Their first EP Tribal Eagle is, according to Ristillinen magazine, the first Finnish Christian metal CD. Tribal Eagle and debut album Street Corner Queen are also noted as pieces of Christian metal history. Bassist Manu Lehtinen and guitarist/vocalist Miika Partala - also known for the bands Stoner Kings, Icon Clan, No Man's Band and Feiled, established the record label Little Rose Productions that would remarkably help developing the Finnish Christian metal scene by importing Christian metal albums to Finland and signing bands such as Immortal Souls. During the peak of their career before the band split up for six years in 2001, Deuteronomium became an internationally known group: at one point they headlined foreign festivals such as Seaside festival in Norway with Narnia and Newsboys as support acts. It is also notable that Deuteronomium was previously sponsored by Dr Pepper. Deuteronomium began influencing later bands such as the Ukrainian folk metallers Holy Blood. In June 2006 the band played a comeback concert as the headliner at the biggest non-alcoholic Mid Summer festival in Finland, OHM-Fest. Deuteronomium shot a DVD titled Spelled Alive of the comeback concert. In December 2006 the band officially reformed and soon headlined the biggest Christian metal festival in Finland, Immortal Metal Fest. The band themselves dub their style as death 'n' roll – a bizarre combination of death metal, black metal, classic rock, punk rock, jazz and funk metal. Deuteronomium became known for their unusual song material on the albums Street Corner Queen and Here to Stay. Deuteronomium toured regularly and eventually many knew the band in the metal scene. Their reputation became so extraordinary that nowadays some cite Deuteronomium as a 'metal legend'. Some of the best known Deuteronomium songs are "Spell of Hell", "Northern Praise" and "Crosshope". In August 2008, the band released its third album titled From the Midst of the Battle, which on August 20, peaked at number 11 on the Official Finnish Top 40 Album Chart.

Woods of Ypres - Releases

Woods of Ypres is a blackened doom metal band from Ontario, Canada. Woods of Ypres was formed in 2002 by David Gold, Aaron Palmer and Brian McManus. The trio released the first Woods Of Ypres demo, Against the Seasons: Cold Winter Songs from the Dead Summer Heat, the same year. In 2003, David Gold moved to Toronto to begin working on a full-length album. In 2004 the band's first full length album, Pursuit of the Sun & Allure of the Earth was released on David Gold's record label, Krankenhaus Records. The third Woods of Ypres album Woods III: Deepest Roots & Darkest Blues was released at the end of 2007. Contrasting the two albums, critic Laura Taylor wrote, "While Pursuit of the Sun verged on metallised Pink Floyd, Woods’s latest unearths more of the band’s black and dark metal inspirations". In 2008 the band was featured on the cover of Unrestrained! Magazine. The fourth Woods of Ypres album, Woods IV: The Green Album was released in November 2009. Exclaim! called it "the band's most amorphous and powerful creature so far." All of the band's albums have been released on independent labels. Woods of Ypres were thought to have broken up in 2010 due to front man David Gold's move to Kuwait for financial and occupational reasons. However, that has been negated by words from David himself. Their next album, "Woods 5: You Were The Light", was recorded in August 2010 and will be released in the coming months. Gold has stated that it may be just a digital download and not pressed to CD. In October 2010, it was announced that Woods of Ypres had signed to Earache Records and that all rumors of the band being split up were false.

Head - Releases

Brian Phillip Welch (born June 19, 1970), better known as HEAD, is an American musician best known as the former lead guitarist/co-founder of the multiplatinum Nu Metal band Korn, whose trademark style was sporting a constellation of rubber-banded braids in his hair. long with fellow Korn guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer, Welch helped patent Korn's distinctive sound, a mix of sirenlike shards of dissonant guitar that mimicked a turntablist's various effects and rumbling down-tuned riffing that defined the spook metal aesthetic beginning in the mid-'90s. Welch left the band in 2005 after becoming a Christian to focus on life as a father and to pursue his own solo career. Head and Munky ranked at #26 of Guitar World's 100 Greatest Heavy Metal Guitarists of All Time.

DigHayZoose - Releases

DigHayZoose was a Christian funk/Modern rock band from Kansas City, Missouri. The Encyclopedia of Contemporary Christian Music describes them as "One of the first Christian alternative rock bands of the 1990s". Their name, when spoken, is audibly similar to saying "Dig Jesus" in Spanish. The band signed to Brainstorm Artists International in 1991 and produced their first album, StruggleFish, with Terry Scott Taylor. The album was widely described as essentially a clone of the Red Hot Chili Peppers or Janes Addiction. They subsequently toured nationally with bands such as Scaterd Few and played festivals including the Cornerstone Festival. The band found their own groove by their second album, MagentaMantaLoveTree. Magenta was co-produced with Gene Eugene and is considered more emotional than their first. The bands' sound fuses punk rock and freestyle jazz[4] to create their own brand of neo-psychedelic rock, as in the songs "Black-Eyed Pea" and "Secret." They also covered Steve Taylor's "I Want To Be A Clone" for the 1994 tribute I Predict A Clone. In later concerts, Taylor's version came to resemble DigHayZoose's more than his own. DigHayZoose was released from their contract in 1994 and announced their breakup at the Cornerstone festival that year. At the same time Ascension 7: Rocketship to Heaven, their final release, was recorded. Ascension 7 includes guests Dan Michaels of The Choir and Allan Aguirre of Scaterd Few. They began to search for a new record label, and in 1995 added David Coonce (known as "Zoop") as a fifth member.[6] An underproduced demo, which consisted of five songs of modern praise, received what the band later characterized as a "lukewarm reception." When David Andersen left the band in 1996 they reformed under the name Infrared and recorded a demo before disbanding in 1997. In 2005 the band reunited to rerecord their Infrared era material.
